Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Dog Translator (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of Service

Dog Translator is an entertainment and educational app that provides:

  • Dog emotion sound simulations
  • AI-powered voice-to-bark translation (entertainment purposes)
  • AI-powered image analysis (breed identification, mood scan, dog twin, outfits)
  • Dog training command guides
  • Dog care guides
  • Dog whistle utility

Important Disclaimer: The App is designed for entertainment and general educational purposes only. AI translations and analyses are simulated and should not be considered scientifically accurate or a substitute for professional veterinary advice, animal behaviorist consultation, or professional dog training.

3. User Accounts

The App uses anonymous authentication. No email, password, or personal information is required to create an account. A unique anonymous identifier is automatically created when you first use the App. This identifier is used to manage your subscription, credits, and usage data. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, as your account is tied to your device.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

4.1 Free Features

The following features are available for free: emotion sounds, training command guides, care guides, and the dog whistle.

4.2 Premium Subscription

Premium features (AI voice translation, breed ID, dog twin, mood scan, and dog outfits) require a paid subscription. Subscription options include:

  • Weekly Premium: $1.99/week, includes 15 credits per week
  • Yearly Premium: $29.99/year, includes 75 credits per year, with a 3-day free trial

4.3 Credits

AI-powered features consume credits. Most features cost 1 credit per use, while some premium features (e.g., AI Dog Outfits) cost 3 credits. Credits are included with your subscription and reset at the beginning of each billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over.

4.4 Billing and Cancellation

All payments are processed through Apple's App Store. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policy.

4.5 Free Trial

The yearly subscription includes a 3-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will begin and you will be charged the subscription price. Free trial eligibility is determined by Apple and is typically limited to one trial per Apple ID.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, credit systems, or subscription requirements
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
  • Upload harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content through the AI features
  • Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the service
  • Use automated systems or bots to access the App

6. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including illustrations, sounds, text, training guides, care guides, and the App design — is owned by Dog Translator or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content in the App without prior written consent. Content generated by AI features (translations, scan results, outfits) is provided for your personal, non-commercial use.

7. User Content

When you submit photos or voice recordings for AI processing, you retain ownership of your original content. By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process it through our AI services for the sole purpose of providing the requested feature. We do not store, share, or use your content for any other purpose.

8. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that:

  • AI translations accurately represent dog communication
  • Breed identifications are 100% accurate
  • Care or training advice replaces professional veterinary or training consultation
  • The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • The dog whistle will produce specific behavioral results

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOG TRANSLATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR PERSONAL INJURY ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Dog Whistle Disclaimer

The dog whistle feature generates high-frequency sounds. Use responsibly and at appropriate volumes. Do not use the whistle to distress, harm, or agitate any animal. Prolonged or excessive use of high-frequency sounds may cause discomfort to dogs and other animals. We are not responsible for any adverse effects resulting from the use of the whistle feature.

11. Rate Limits

To ensure fair usage and service quality, AI-powered features are subject to rate limits (maximum 20 requests per hour) and credit costs. Attempting to circumvent these limits may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access to premium features.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms. You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the App and cancelling any active subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
